Chicago native Lil Reese became a trending topic on Twitter when video footage and photos were released of the rapper getting beat up by Hittz079 and JoJo World Crew. The footage is from April but what made the clip disturbing was that the rapper they call “The Grim Reaper” took a dump on himself because he was terrified.
Taylor got most of his earnings from collaborations with Chief Keef and Fredo Santana. He also collaborated with Chicago native Lil Durk on several records. Although buzz about Lil Reese grew in 2012 his dreams of becoming a musical star fell short. There were talks of record deal offers including one from Def Jam for $1 million. But Reese never signed any deals because he was locked into an awful management deal with 3 Hunna Entertainment. The deal meant that Reese could not release any music with any other label for 10 years unless he released 3 albums with the label.
Despite the bad contract things seemed to be on the rise for the label since Lyor Cohen and Kevin Liles founded. Both were CEO’s at Warner Bros records and wanted to start a label that would focus on street rappers. Unfortunately Cohen left the label and Liles took over. Liles in 2016 took a different direction and began to focus on his artist Young Thug. The label is also a subsidiary of Atlantic Records. Both 3 Hunna and Atlantic wanted to find younger rappers who had a strong social media presence following the success of Lil Yachty, Lil Pump, Tekashi 6 9 and Lil Mosey.
Although he is still signed to 3 Hunna Entertainment, the label does not plan to release any music from Reese which is why he has been focusing on mixtapes.
