Who are Ayesha Curry Parents and her Ethnicity?

Ayesha Curry, born Ayesha Alexander revealed in an interview with Jada Pinkett Smith, that she is of mixed descent but she considers herself Black. Her mother Carol Alexander is of Jamaican descent. She was born in Kingston Jamaica and moved to Canada when she was only 8. And her father John Alexander is Polish but was raised in Canada.

The couple married the following year and gave birth to Curry in 1989. Curry is the oldest of three. When she was 14 her parents moved to North Carolina. Her mother Carol had family in North Carolina and they convinced them to move there due to financial reasons.

During her Red Table Talk interview with Jada Pinkett, Curry claimed that she didn’t face racism until she moved to North Carolina. She claims it was hard for her to fit in. “I wasn’t Black enough for the Black kids and I wasn’t white enough for the white kids.”
